Retire in Maryland Tax Relief Act
After speaking with many of our senior citizens who are on fixed income, this bill seeks to provide some relief by ensuring that no Maryland citizen pays state tax once they turn 80 years old as long as their single taxpayer income is less than $175,000 or joint taxpayer income is less than $250,000. This bill also addresses the large number of Maryland retirees that leave the state because they simply cannot afford to stay in Maryland. The details of the bill are below:
